To add more feathers in its wing, Jharkhand High Court will open three information centres in its premises to dish out information related to the cases to the litigants smoothly.

This will work as help desks for the consumers of justice who visit the court with a sense of hope. These information centres will be inaugurated by the acting Chief Justice DN Patel tomorrow. “These information centres will serve as front office to the common man who can gather any information regarding their case; whether the case in the list, or it is out of list,” said a High Court official.

Any information regarding the day to day hearing at various courts of the Jharkhand High Courts could be obtained from these information centres. “Several problems are faced by common man if someone comes here to enquire about his case. He does not know where to go and whom to askIJ Such problems of common man will be catered by these information centres,” the official pointed out.

“Individuals will be provided a computer printout of the information sought by him immediately at the cost of Rs 2 per copy,” said the official. This move will help to remove the middlemen who sometimes demand huge sums of money for obtaining such information from those whose cases are pending in the Jharkhand High Court.

“Sometimes, the advocates also keep their clients in dark due to the lack of proper information system available to them in the High Court. So, this will definitely provide a relief to not-so-aware consumers of justice,” said the official. To prevent the information centre to become overcrowded, three such centres are being started in there different parts locations of the High Court--- one at gate number 4, another near the railway reservation counter and third inside the main building. These centres will function during the office hours of the High Court.
