The situation in Hazaribagh town is getting bck to normal. last evening curfew was imposed in the municipal area and some parts of Katkamdag block which is still in force. Tomorrow we will review the situation and then will think upon giving relaxation from curfew, said DC Mukesh Kumar in a press conference on Monday evening.
DC Mukesh Kumar, SP Akhilesh Jha and other officials inspected the situation of entire town. Kumar said that the decision of imposing curfew was taken as a precautionary measure and relaxation has been granted for medical purposes, marriage purposes etc. to the needy persons. Para military forces and Rapid Action Force are patrolling in the affected areas.
In the joint press conference DC Mukesh Kumar and SP Akhilesh Jha said that the administration is trying its best to control rumours, fortunately this time less rumours are in air in comparison to previous incidents. They also hinted that the officials are keeping eye on social media and soon some people will be booked under IT Act. They appealed everyone to not simply believe on rumors and if there is any information share it with the administration.
On the second day of the incident there were rumors in the town about some more deaths and of bomb explosion. When asked about it Jha said that only two deaths have been reported, one from Barkattha and one from Rewali and it is yet not established that these are connected with the current dispute. Regarding bomb blast in Habibi Nagar he said that investigation is going on.
SP Akhilesh Jha informed that four FIRs have been lodged regarding Sunday’s dispute and clashes and some persons have been made named accused in it. Police has taken some person in custody and soon there names will be declared. Regarding murders during Ramnavmi procession he said that their priority is to take out the town from the grips of communal tension and then we will take this matter also.
The DC and SP raised some questions in this PC like why some anti-social elements always become successful in disturbing the peace of the town, stone throwing starts at one place and how it soon spreads in other areas, why some people do not follow the appeal of denizens and the administration etc. and said remedies must be found elese it will recur.
