Additional Chief Secretary, Deopartment of Health, K Vidyasagar on Wednesday made a surprise visit of Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital on Wednesday evening along with the Health Director Dr. Pravin Chandra. In his two hour long stay in Sadar Hospital, Hazaribagh, the Additional CS and Director took a close look at the infrastructure and working pattern of this hospital. Then they sat with DC Mukesh Kumar, SDO Anuj Kumar Prasad, CS Dr. RP Gupta and DS Dr. RS Vandana and discussed upon various issues related with the health department and Sadar Hospital, Hazaribagh.

Before leaving Hazaribagh Vidyasagar said that their this visit was specially aimed to look into the progress of Trauma Centre, Hazaribagh. He said that the State Government wants to make this Trauma Centre operational within a month. During this surprise visit we found some infrastructural mistakes in the building and we have directed the district administration to immediately direct the EE to rectify the mistakes. The State Government has already provided Rs 27 lakhs from which the hospital administration has purchased necessary machines and tools and today we have directed them to immediately give them the list of requirements so that by the end of this month this trauma center will get fully equipped and ready to serve.

During the visit both the officials went to the wards where they found a prescription having name of medicine which needed to be purchased from the market. Taking it seriously both directed the CS to make an enquiry of it and to punish the guilty person. They said that the government has already supplied essential medicines to all the hospitals of the state so there is no need of purchasing medicine from market. CS failed to give the status of store on which both officials looked angry.

Vidyasagar said that eight OPDs are working in this hospital and we have directed the officials to increase its number as 19 doctors are posted here and to arrange OPDs in evening shift also. When asked about the lack of specialist doctors and staffs he said that this hospital will get some more doctors and staffs soon because we also want to decrease the percentage of referral cases to RIMS, Ranchi, from Hazaribagh Sadar Hospital.
