Hazaribagh police seals border areas

On Tuesday, polling will take place for the first phase of election of Jharkhand Assembly. In this phase election is going to be held in Chatra, Manika and latehar constituencies which are adjacent to Hazaribagh district.

Keeping in view Hazaribagh police have sealed the border areas and massive search operation is on at many points. On the other hand 584 cops of Hazaribagh district police have been sent on election duty of first phase. 65 police officers and 519 police jawans have been sent to different constituencies where election is going to be held on November 25.

The rest cops of district are regularly engaged in making raids and in search operations in sensitive areas.

According to a police official 12 groups of extremists are active in Jharkhand in which MCC is the most watched organization while TPC, JPC, TSPC, JBA, Tiger Group, JSPC, JSPM etc are also active in the state and about half dozen are active in Hazaribagh and adjoining districts.

SP Akhilesh Jha said that we are regularly keeping eye on the activities and movement of these banned organizations especially on MCC.

Our officers and jawans have already entered into the forests to check their movement during this election time. According to sources police is also keeping eye on the candidates and political parties who are trying to get support of these banned organisations.

The border of Chatra district is the most sensitive and challenging one for Hazaribagh police so especial police teams headed by DSP Arvind Kumar Singh, Satish Chandra Jha, Hl Ravi and Avinash Kumar have been deputed on the borders. SP Akhilesh Jha is himself monitoring everything.

According to police sources though police

teams are deputed on the bordering areas of Keredari, Chouparan, Katkamsandi, Padma, Barhi, Chalkusha, Gorhar, Barkattha, Vishnugarh, Charhi and Churchu but keeping in view the election of first phase the stress is on those borders which connects Hazaribagh with Chatra, latehar and Manika.

Only a small area of Keredari and Barkagaon blocks share borders with latehar and Manika constituencies while the borders with Chatra district is scattered in many blocks.

This time many candidates are also in fray from these constituencies having their records of links with the ultra organizations earlier, so police is on its toes to avoid any unwanted happening.
