Hazaribagh police have arrested two ultras, one of which has been identified as the area commander of the banned organisation TPC. Police made these arrests on Sunday night after getting a tip off from informers that some ultras will visit the Parej colliery area of Charhi in the night to collect levy amount.
SP Akhilesh Jha giving this information in a press brief organised on Monday said, “After getting secret information from an unknown person a police team led by trainee DSP Niraj Kumar was deputed near Parej. In the night the team stopped a bike on suspicion on which three persons were travelling. As the bike stopped, all three started running away leaving the bike. The member of QRT chased them and caught two while one escaped because of forest area and darkness.”
When the arrested suspects were brought to Charhi police station it became clear that they were the ultras for whom the team was constituted. The names of arrested ultras are Sameer Ganjhu alias Sukhlal and Sukhdeo alias Sudesh Ganjhu. Both are the residents of Chatra district. Sudesh Ganjhu was later identified as the area commander of TPC Pathalgadda area.
Police has recovered one country made carbine, two 9 mm pistols, 7 live cartridges, three mobiles, one motorcycle which was stolen from Hazaribagh some days ago, Pithoos, pocket diary and some printed and hand written literatures from them.
SP hinted that during the investigation they have got some important clues on which they will act in the days to come. The action will be taken at appropriate time. DSP Satish Jha and Arvind Singh were present at the time of press briefing.
