Hazaribagh Municipal Corporation has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Urban Development of Jharkhand Government to start city bus service in the town area.

Sharing this information, Mayor Anjali Kumari said that today the Executive Officer of Hazaribagh Municipal Corporation HT Rayeen is in Ranchi to discuss and submit this proposal with the officials of the Ministry.

The Jharkhand Government has just elevated Hazaribagh Municipal Council to the rank of Municipal Corporation. Gadget notification has been done. Besides 32 old wards of the town 19 adjacent villages have been included in the area of Municipal Corporation. The proposal of city bus service has been framed keeping the transport requirements of the denizens of Hazaribagh town and adjacent 43 villages.

Mayor Anjali Kumari said that daily thousands of people come to Hazaribagh town from the nearby areas for their work and educational purposes. Since there is no bus service available so they use autos, rickshaws and other vehicles to come to the town. It takes more time and is expensive too, so we have made the proposal of city bus service for their convenience.

Initially we have proposed to start 10 city buses from different areas, all about 10 kms away from Hazaribagh town. According to the proposal the city buses will start from Morangi, Nagwa, Meru, Khapariyawan, Sultana, Kadma, Chadwa, Sitagarha, Jagdishpur via Korrah and Ichak More. After approval from the ministry we will move to the transport department to get the root and stoppages notified, she added.

Nowadays Hazaribagh town looks to be overcrowded almost all the day, traffic jam has become a regular practice in almost all areas of the town, increasing number of vehicles in the town and flow of vehicles from outside has reached to an alarming situation. It can be hoped that this proposal of Municipal Corporation will help in reducing the congestion of vehicles from the roads of the town because in the days to come the number of daily visitors to the town area is going to increase very rapidly because of migration and acquisition of land for various projects in different blocks of the district.
