DC Manish Ranjan has appealed to everyone to exercise their right to vote. He promised free and fair elections and security for voters.
The DC instructed the SDO and other officers to keep an eye open for anti-social elements on polling day especially and take rapid action if they get any reports of disturbance. Ranjan ordered the arrest of all those with warrants against them, before polling day.
Thirteen types of identity proof will be accepted at the booths to ease voting for those who do not have voter IDs. Names of those who have attained 18 years of age have also been included on the voters list.
Ranjan assured deployment of police at every booth. The control room will be operative the whole day and help will just be a phone call away.
