Hazaribagh’s police officials have arrested hardcore criminal of the State, Dashrath Mahto alias Bhagirath, from a hotel on Sunday midnight. He was having dinner in the hotel. Police arrested him on the spot and seized one loaded revolver and cartridges from the criminal.
Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Jha produced the arrested hardcore criminal in the Press conference on Monday in his office chamber. He said that Mahto was released from Hazaribagh jail on July 2, 2015. After coming out, he again got involved in suspicious activities. Police was keeping close eye on his activities and finally, Barkagaon police arrested him.
SP said that Dashrath is a resident of Chorka village of Barkagaon block of the district. Dashrath is the master mind behind many bank robberies of the state. He was also involved in kidnapping of more than a dozen businessmen of Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Koderma and Bokaro and is named accused in the FIRs lodged.
Dashrath was a simple coal labor in the Urimari coal belt of the district. Initially he stepped in the crime of small road robberies in that area and then became a hardcore criminal. Yesterday he was planning for a big crime with his associates in the hotel when police team reached there.
SP said that he had disclosed some important information, facts and the name of criminals who are involved in different cases in different districts. He further said that we will form a team to trace out the criminals.
