Hazaribagh municipal council has taken some decisions to increase its revenue as per the guidelines of urban development department of Jharkhand Government. The proposals where tabled in the general body meeting of the council held under the chairmanship of Anjali Kumari.In a major decision the municipal council has fixed Rs135 as water tax which will be collected from every holding having water connection from the coming financial year. Besides this, the municipal council has also decided to increase the rate of supplying water by tanker from Rs250 to Rs400 inside the municipal area and Rs100 more for every kilometre outside the municipal area.
The general body of municipal council also passed the proposal of making vendors zone in identified spots of the town. In this meeting, EO Ajay Sao informed that more than a dozen sites have been selected and we are going to send the proposal to Deputy Commissioner for approval, thereafter it will be made public. The ward councillors raised the matter of erection of mobile towers and underground cabling by different companies without any permission. It was decided that the municipal council will take a fee for these activities.
Keeping in view the tough directives of the State Government to increase revenue collection the members decided to organise special camps in every ward in which the owners of those houses built without map can get passed their maps without paying any fine and also the tax defaulters can pay their tax without fine. It was also decided that after these special camps a thorough survey will be made to identify those buildings passed without maps and lodges, restaurants, nursing homes, marriage halls, hostels, private schools etc. running without registration in residential areas.
After the meeting municipal council chairman Anjali Kumari and vice chairman Anand Dev informed that we are going to hand over the Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Park by open bid from April this year. Besides this, in the meeting fruitful discussion on solid waste management, increasing water supply area and Rajeev Gandhi Housing Scheme also took place.
In the start of the meeting, the members raised their voice against the working pattern of a staff which deals NUlM. When chairman and Executive Officer assured them that action will be taken against him then they became calm and discussions started on the proposals.
