As the craze for theme based pandals has increased among the denizens. In an attempt to attract devotees this year too, Argora Durga Puja Samiti has come up with an attractive theme. To grab the attention of visitors especially kids the organisers and artists are preparing ‘Harry Potter Castle’.
Citing details about the theme and preparation the puja committee member Sunil Sahu said, “As we all are familiar with the craze of Harry Potter series books, this year we are trying to depict Harry Potter Castle and for this the preparation is going on since past two months. The theme, this year is decided completely keeping in mind kids taste and preferences.”
“Since the theme is not a traditional one, however the artists have managed to give shape to the vision. In order to create fantasy and create a magical ambience we are using special light effects inside the pandal,” Sahu further added.
like every year, in most cases for the auspicious occasion of Durga puja, artisans come from Kolkata and adjoining areas to give shape to the puja pandals. Same is the case with Agrora Durga puja pandal, for creating a castle replica all the workers have come from Birbhum districts of West Bengal.
“In fact, 40 artists are toiling hard to give aesthetic touch to the puja pandal and bring the real essence of Harry Potter series,” Sahu added.
Giving details about the budget and security aspects Sahu said, “Approximately this year our budget is Rs. 15 lakhs and most of the budget is focused on decoration which is a theme based conception. This time special light effects will mesmerize the visitors. Whereas the security issue is concerned we hire few volunteers to keep a check on the teeming crowd. Though we do not receive any support from administration but every year we successfully conduct Durga puja.”
“We have installed 8 CCTVs cameras and separate women volunteers will be deputed at pandal especially in night to assist girls and women. In case of emergency we are also going to issue our own helpline numbers. Separate counters for first-aid, lost and found are being set up,” informed Sahu.
