Akhilesh Parmanu holds a B-Tech in Mechanical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. Having been associated with the Art of living since his college days, he became a full time Art of living teacher in 2008 to spread joy and happiness in the life of every person he met along the way. Parmanu said that happiness is not just absence of Sadness, happiness is an enthusiasm towards life. He gave an example of Indian villages and said that they are much happier than Europe. Happiness is inner harmony coupled with dynamic action, he said, adding that the quality of one’s life depends on the state of one’s mind.
Dr. Mandal said that mind and mindset are different. “We cannot understand mind with our mind. Anatomically, there is no centre of Happiness in mind. FIGHT or FlIGHT are the only two emotions of mind. Today the 1st generation goes for values, the 2nd generation for Social Aspiration and the 3rd generation for reality. It is actually the more scarcity and less abundance that make us happy,” he said.
