Civil administration has imposed prohibitory orders at Haidernagar, Palamu on Tuesday.
SP Indrajeet Mahatha said police used mild force by way of lathi to disperse a procession of the majority community which was determined to pass through the main market of Haidernagar.
SP further said had this procession be not stalled by police it would have again vitiated the communal harmony here at Haidernagar.
Mahatha said police made repeated calls to the people taking out the procession to disband & disperse but the procession went more and more fierce and violent following which police lathi charged it in which a couple of cops sustained stone hit injury.
He clarified that there was no permission for this procession and so it’s taking out was most unwarranted and smacked of ulterior motive. “There was the graceful immersion of goddess Durga. Pehlam of tazias was equally over. And hence on Tuesday taking out this procession was but for a hidden cause which the police foiled.”
