Governor-cum-chancellor of the universities of the State, Droupadi Murmu, is ‘not able to attend the January 23rd programme’ in the Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj.
Sources said the Raj Bhavan official has sent a written communication to this effect to the NPU here.
Sources said the official communication from Raj Bhavan read Honourable Governor would not be able to attend this January 23 programme of this university following unavoidable commitments there in Ranchi.
Raj Bhavan further said the next suitable date of Her Excellency’s visit would be sent to the university later on.
Vice Chancellor of the NPU AN Ojha has confirmed the inability of her Excellency in attending the January 23rd programme.
However, sources said the visit of India’s Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in Ranchi on January 23 has led to this postponement of Her Excellency tour to NPU.
Deputy Commissioner of Palamu K Srinivasan too has been telephonically informed of this postponement of Her Excellency’s visit on January 23. Sources said to be on the safe side, the NPU authorities have meanwhile stopped the preparation of rostrum and other things midway.
