Governor, Droupadi Murmu unveiled special postal cover on ‘Forests of Jharkhand’ in the presence of Postal Department officials at Raj Bhawan on Friday.
Focusing on prominent features of some renowned forest and wildlife sanctuaries situated at Betla, Dalma, Saranda including Hazaribagh, the cover highlights and provides a glimpse of species found in these specific forests. The Governor on the occasion also released stamp collections for children ‘Rendezvous with Stamps’ to make kids familiar with stamp collections and its benefit. The Philatelic guide book is designed especially for children with the aim to develop children interest in stamps collection wrapping some unique features like the history of stamps, popular stamps etc. Chief Post Master General, Anil Kumar, Principal Secretary to Governor SK Sathpathy along with other officials was present during the launch.
