Governor Draupadi Murmu will visit Daltonganj on Wednesday April 6. She will be accompanied by her ADC P Murugan, private secretary JP Dash and PA Surat Kumar Mohanta.
Sources said this would be the maiden visit of the Governor here in Daltonganj. She has three programmes here. Two of them in Daltonganj and one in Chainpur block.
Sources said she would visit ST Girls Hostel on the campus of KG High School in Daltonganj. Here again in Daltonganj she would visit the Special School for the physically challenged students.
At Chainpur she would visit the Kasturba Girls Hostel.
Deputy Commissioner of Palamu Ameet Kumar has confirmed the visit of the Governor saying she has had three programmes here covering two blocks/police stations Sadar (Daltonganj) and Chainpur.
Sources reminded that her visit to Kasturba Girls Hostel in Chainpur is very important as there Her Excellency would like to have the first hand account of the living condition including safety and security of the girl inmates there from the boarders of this girls hostel there.
Sources said an alleged sex racket in a Kasturba Girls Hostel in Jharkhand has set the alarm bells ringing.
The Chainpur based Kasturba Girls Hostel although located on the bank of the river Koyal has adequate security cover and its internal management is sans any leak said officials of the education department here.
It was a sheer coincidence that DC Palamu on the request of the NPU here held a meeting with VC A N Ojha Pro VC Bijay Singh and Registrar AmarSingh on Tuesday evening April 5 wherein DFO North also took part in which Kumar asked the DFO North to give all possible co operation and assistance to the NPU to help forward the matter of geo referencing, mapping and pillaring of land at Hisra Pokhraha on the Daltonganj betla road here for the administrative building of this university.
