In an attempt to explore the possibility to achieve a glorious future in the area of professional training, a two-day conference was inaugurated by Governor Draupadi Murmu at the Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT) on Saturday.
The theme of the conference is 'Opportunities and Challenges in the Professional Education in Jharkhand and the role of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), Ranchi in association with State Project Implementation Unit'.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Murmu said that Jharkhand is a prosperous State full of natural resources and amazing human resources and there is no shortage of labour and talent, there is a need only to accommodate these important resources.
"Considering the development prospects of the State and the creative potential of the youth power, organizing a seminar on ‘Challenges and Prospects of Vocational Education in Jharkhand State: Role of Jharkhand Technology University’ is a commendable initiative. In addition to poverty and unemployment, the biggest obstacle in the way of education is the feeling of indifference towards the educational environment. This barrier can be overcome through continuous awareness and favorable motivation," said Murmu.
The Governor further said that the residents of the State are known for their unwavering dedication to labour. "This eternal dedication of labour with the help of technology, it can be developed as an effective weapon towards the self-reliance of the youth of the State. The clear objective of establishing JUT is to upgrade the centers of education and research in Science and Technology. At the same time, the various engineering and technical colleges established in Jharkhand have to work fully to improve the quality of education, technology and to adapt to the need of global change and Jharkhand," she added.
Lamenting on the pitiable condition of the institute JUT VC PK Mishra asked that is Jharkhand meant for the supply of labourers? "There is immense potential in this State. Technical University has also immense potential. Madam save the university," he added. He became emotional while speaking in front of Governor Draupadi Murmu.
Addressing the Governor, Mishra said, "Madam, you have entrusted me with a big responsibility. I got a call from Raj Bhavan on December, 11 2020. Madam, I was determined at the same time that I would do a lot for the university and the students. But Madam, the system here is not letting me work. This is not a good time to say this but I want to make you aware of the problems of the university. I have been wandering in the Government system for permission for three months," he added.
The VC said that youth can be technically competent and can be linked with employment but there are many obstacles in this situation.
After listening to the VC's problems, the Governor assured all possible cooperation.
