In a move that not only surprised the governor C P Radhakrishnan rather it must have pleased him when he found a motley items for sports and games right before him to be given away to the particularly vulnerable tribal group people of Nawadeeh where the Governor had had his last leg of his two day tour programme in Palamu on Friday.

At the Nawadeeh interactive session of the Governor with the PVTG people today, a PVTG woman Pinky Soren alias Korwa urged the Governor to ensure sports and game items for the kids of this group. It was a plain request from a woman for sports and games.

DC Palamu Anjaneyulu Dodde sitting next to the Governor just tried to explore how to get it for the PVTG kids when SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha offered to give these sports items. Sinha got onto it right from the Nawadeeh interactive session asking his police officers here in Daltonganj to buy items for the PVTG boys and girls.

Police bought 6 footballs, 5 carrom board sets, 4 cricket bats, 6 stumps,12 tennis balls, 4 volleyballs and 25 sets of football jerseys. It was all done in a record time of two hours and thirty minutes.

In the meantime the PVTG brand women Sushila Murmu and Pinky Soren alias Pinky Korwa along with the Nawadeeh mukhiya Dayanand Prasad and others were shipped from Nawadeeh to the circuit house Daltonganj. Here they and the SP waited for the Governor to come from Garhwa's Ramkanda block.

Sources said the Governor on his alighting from the car was requested to give away the sports items to the PVTG contingent which sprang a big surprise for the governor to ask, "Is it really? Sports goods ready to be disbursed."

There was as much joy and satisfaction on the face of the Governor as it was on the faces of the PVTG team which was to receive it from the hands of the governor.

SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha wrote in a message that such swiftness helps win the confidence of the common people in the police administration. The entire purchase and shipment of the PVTG team were done at the neck break speed.
