Governor Syed Ahmed expressed grief over the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Doranda and said such incidences are a blemish for any civilised society. The administration-police and society should ensure collectively that such incidents are not repeated, he added.
Ahmed also emphasised respect for women. He stressed on character building by families, institutions and society. The Governor announced a compensation of Rs 2.25 lakh to the family of the girl and offered his condolences.
