Gun and gold also figure in the affidavit of the candidates, who have filed their nominations in Palamu where the voting is due on November 25. The cash figure is simply staggering said sources. An Independent Kushwaha Sashi Bhushan Mehta who has filed his nomination for the Panki Assembly seat has mentioned rifle and pistol under his possession and gold more than 21 grams.
Another Independent candiadte Dilip Singh Namdhari has no gun but gold worth Rs150 grams as per his affidavit. Madhusudan Tripathy, a JVM( P) candidate from Panki has a rifle and gold 250 grams. These are just the specimen to prove that rich and powerful have filed nomination and their riches are decided by gold, cash and gun!
The district public relation officer Palamu is yet to make copies of affidavit available to the press here. If there are gun and gold there are well educated candidates too like the son of former Minister Chandrashekhar Dubey whose son Ajay Dubey is trying his luck from Bishrampur. Dilip Singh Namdhari is a graduate from Chandigarh-based university. Madhusudan Tripathy is an MA and llB.
There came one candidate in Garhwa district ( name withheld) who wanted his nomination without any paper with him and was curtly told to buy a Rs10,000 worth nomination paper first. The ignorant and the experience both have filed nominations.
