Zila Abhiwawak Sangh — a body to keep watch on schools and colleges here — has picked DAV Institute of Engineering And Technology (DAVIET) with a volley of question marks on its functioning.
President of this Sangh Kishore Kumar Pandey said, “I have submitted a 7-point charter of questions in regard to this DAVIET to the vice chancellor AN Ojha of Nilamber Pitamber University (NPU) under which this DAVIET is affiliated to’ Kishore Kumar Pandey in his charter has alleged that there is no teacher of English and Mathematics in this institute while officiating principal of DAVIET CS Tiwary presented Shikha Swaroop and AC Shukla as English and Mathematics teacher respectively before a team of NPU officials comprising three deans and proctor which was sent to this institute on Tuesday under express order of the VC Ojha in response to Pandey’s charter of queries said university sources.
Pandey in his charter has raised the issue of absence of any PTI on the campus. His contention carries weight and substance as there is no physical training instructor on this campus. Officiating principal Tiwary conceded that there is no PTI at this time on the campus and this post is lying vacant since July 2015.
Kishore Pandey has demanded immediate arrangement of PTI to which officiating principal Tiwary said ‘ PTI will be here by November this year. Pandey has raised an important issue and that is of regular principal here. This DAVIET coming into existence in the year 2008 has in its eight years so far has seen 5 principals or officiating ones. The present incumbent CS Tiwary is also an officiating one.
Kishore Pandey who is also a lawyer has contended that this engineering institute be in the hands of a regular principal instead of a stop gap arrangement principal to which Tiwary argues that post for the principal has been advertised and by November it will be filled here.
Pandey who is concerned for job placement of the students of this institute said the Training Placement Officer ( TPO) of this institute lacks requisite qualification while Tiwary contests that the TPO Nisha Rani Gupta is an MBA degree holder and this criterion does not apply for her.
Pandey has raised the issue of students’ `2,000 taken by Jharkhand Combined Competitive Examination counseling which he wanted to be returned to the students to which Tiwary said ‘ This institute has not been intimated anything in this regard by the said counselling centre’.
Pandey has caught on the nerve of this institute while charging that students of this institute of the session 2015-16 are yet to get their registration slips to which officiating principal Tiwary has no answer except this that NP university is yet to give registration slips to the students of the said session.
