Grand Alliance taking shape in jail: Pratul Shahdeo

Taking a dig at the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo on Sunday said it was ironical that a party that claims to free Jharkhand of corruption is preparing its election plan inside the jail.

Shahdeo’s statement was directed at JMM’s Executive President Hemant Soren, who on Saturday met incarcerated Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.

Shahdeo said that RJD had distributed its symbol from the jail earlier also and the practice was a stain on democracy. “Hemant Soren had already sat in the lap of the mother of corruption, Congress Party, and now he is seeking guidance from Lalu Prasad, a convict in a multimillion scam. JMM has drowned in corruption. All this shows that the grand alliance is being formed only to loot the people of Jharkhand. They don’t have policy and principles and they have nothing to do with the development of the people,” said Shahdeo.

The party Spokesperson said that the Congress State president Rameshwar Oraon had rightly said that all the allies of his alliance are thieves. Shahdeo asked Oraon to clarify who among his allies was the biggest thief, and who is the most notorious.

“The public is watching all this drama and will reject this alliance which is being formed without principles in upcoming assembly elections,” he added.
