Considering good effects of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and mid-day meal especially on curbing naxal activities the Government has directed its officials to make the centrally sponsored schemes more vibrant in 17 IAP districts.

Development commissioner Sudhir Prasad while assessing the schemes on Monday underlined their importance in accelerating pace of development in poorly developed areas, considered as main reason behind ultra activities. “The pace of development should be raised in IAP areas. It can be done by proper implementation of centrally sponsored schemes especially SSA and MDM,” said Prasad.

He reviewed expenditure done in the schemes in last financial year and also for the current 2014-15 department-wise and emphasized that the guidelines set by the Centre should not be overlooked at any cost.

He also reviewed the works undertaken under NRHM and called for speedy implementation of the schemes running. Sudhir Prasad underlined the importance of PMGSY, PRI, BRGF, ICDS, KRVY, MGNREGA and NRlM relating to concerned Departments. In the meeting, the Government also looked for `1,410 crore under proposed negotiated loan target for 2014-15. Projects worth `1,850 are also posed to be undertaken during the period.
