The State Government has decided to run State capital’s Super Speciality Sadar Hospital on its own.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das, while disclosing the information during a review meeting on Monday, said the Government is managing essential facilities for the proper operation of the Sadar hospital regarding the matter.
For the past few years, the Government was in talks with several private organisations to run the same hospital on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The 550-bed equipped hospital was completed in 2011.
Several tenders were floated but there was no favourable response. A team from Medanta Group of Hospitals did a recce of the infrastructure in March with the plan of managing it. However, it did not work out.
Besides making the announcement, Das stressed on developing Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) into a model hospital so that similar facilities of the premiere cradle are available in other Government medical institutions across the State.
He instructed the Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Chief Secretary Rajeev Gauba and Health Department Principal Secretary K Vidyasagar to call an immediate meeting with DGP DK Pandey and RIMS Director SK Chaudhary for preparing the blueprint of security arrangements at RIMS.
He said in order to improve the atmosphere of RIMS it is important to ensure that the doctors and health workers perform their duty religiously round the clock as well as the medicines are always available for the patients.
He suggested officials to solve the problems of their doctors by holding a meeting with them. Also, he stressed on conducting a probe over the promotion of doctors and health workers of RIMS.
As the Health Department has signed MoU with SRl Diagnostics and Medall for setting pathology laboratories in various medical institutions, CM ordered the officials to commence the PPP mode pathology centre in RIMS within two months.
Also, he asked them to start the advanced radiology centre in the premiere cradle within the next four months.
