Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday promised that the Government would make every effort in tracing out martyrs and their kin and ensure their felicitation and provide jobs to them. Soren reiterated to fulfil the promise made during the Assembly polls in 2019.
Addressing the gathering after paying floral tributes at Shahid Sthal in memory of the martyrs of the Kharsawan firing incident, which took place in 1948, the CM said that it was their government, which had traced out martyrs and their relatives of the Gua firing incident and arranged to give them government jobs.
“We are aware of our promises made during the time of election and as we did for dependents of those who sacrificed their life in the Gua firing incident by giving them job we will honour for dependents of those who have sacrificed their life for separate statehood agitation and felicitate them properly,” informed Soren.
It was during the short tenure of the Hemant Soren government between 2013 and14 that Gua firing incident martyrs dependents were given government jobs.
He also said that a commission has been set up to identify the revolutionaries (freedom fighters for separate statehood) but there are problems as there is a long list of such revolutionaries.
“We want to recognise martyrs who fought for separate statehood. We do not want to miss out on any one of them and want to reach out to all such fighters and their dependents and an action plan has already been made in this direction by the state government,” said Soren.
The CM also expressed commitment of the government to make a State as per the dreams of the martyrs who gave their life for creation of a separate state of Jharkhand.
Ushering warm wishes for the New Year, Hemant Soren said that despite battling Covid-19 the government would try its best to take the state on path of development and appealed to the masses to be careful and follow protocols of Covid-19 laid out by the government. Answering to queries on delay in completion of the 500-bed hospital at Amda in Kharsawan, the Chief Minister said that the government is looking at early completion of all pending projects.
The Chief Minister, commenting on the deteriorating law and order, claimed that the government has never tried to hide any crime and tried to probe into each incident with transparency and bring the culprits to book.
Soren was flanked by State transport minister Champai Soren, social welfare Minister Joba Manjhi, hosts of MLAs including Kharswan MLA Dasrath Gagrai, Chaibasa MLA Deepak Birua, Chakradharpur MLA Sukhram Oraon and Ichagarh MLA Sabita Mahato.
