Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma on Saturday said that special campaign should be run from November 25 to December 10 to register workers of unorganised sectors. She said that SOP of the campaign should be prepared on department level and the benefits from the registration should be propagated at large scale. Camps should be conducted on places where workers assemble in big number. Verma was holding a meeting with officers of labour, Employment and Training Department through video conferencing here on Saturday.

She said that workers of unorganised sectors should be categorised and list and area wise work-plan should be prepared. It was informed by the department that 1,51,739 workers have been registered. After registration, benefits of 10 schemes will be given to workers of unorganised sectors.

The CS said to speed up the observation work of migrant workers who are working out of the State. She said that the women workers should be provided work in their home town.  They should move to migrant families and make them confident that their daughters will be trained and provided work in the State itself. It was also told that 36,596 migrant labourers of 5 districts- Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Dumka and lohardaga- have been identified out of which 8145 are women workers working in big cities of the nation. During the review the CS directed to run special campaign to free child labourers and take action on their employers as per law. The freed children should be documented so that they don’t fall prey to child labour again. School going children should be admitted in schools and girls in Kasturba schools. Parents of child labours should be connected to govt. schemes so that they don’t let their children fall in the trap again.

Principal Secretary, labour, Employment and Training Department SKG Rahate along with other officers were present in the meeting.
