Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday said that the Government will make consensus with political parties and call meeting before declaring domicile policy for the State.

He said that the Government is keen to bring the policy and is taking suggestions and views from all the parties before declaring it. Das was addressing the third Chhattisgarhi Mahasammelan organised by Akhil Bhartiya Chhattisgarhi Yuva Manch at Gopal Maidan. About 5,000 people participated in it. Senior BJP leader Arjun Munda also shared the dais with the CM.

Addressing the gathering Das said that the Government will soon call a meeting to take views from the parties on the policy. He asserted that his government would bring the domicile policy keeping the local people in mind and through a consensus.

It may be recalled that the JMM, Congress and the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) did not give in writing about their suggestions on a domicile policy.

Das also said that the Government has decided to construct 50,000 toilets in villages and has set target to ensure toilets in all the houses by 2018. He said that sanitation and cleanliness is an important agenda and Government will ensure that all the villages are well equipped with toilets. The Chief Minister also asked the opposition parties to play constructive role in the State.

In his address, he said that Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh culture is almost the same and steps must be taken to promote it. The state government too is trying its best to provide basic facilities and infrastructure in schools. “ We have already started recruiting teachers which will very soon improve the gap of teacher-student ratio. The State Government too is trying to improve because every child deserves quality education” noted Das.
