Senior Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA, Lobin Hembram vociferously raised questions against the State Government on Friday and said that the Government should fulfil its pre poll promises made before the public of the State.
For the last few months Hembrom created ripples in the State politics. He is constantly putting his own State Government in the dock.
Talking to the media persons in the State Capital the MLA clearly said that he is talking about what JMM had promised to the public before the elections. He said that the truth is that JMM had promised the people that if its Government is formed, then local policy will be made on the basis of Khatian of 1932, the CNT and SPT Act will be strictly implemented, Water, forest land will be protected but after the formation of the Government, work is not being done on these issues. He said that the State Government and the party should tell whether this promise was not made to the public.
“Today 26 months have passed since the formation of the Government but no work has been done on this issue. I have drawn the attention of the Government to this matter many times in the House. When the Chief Minister makes a statement in the House that Khatian based local policy cannot be made. There is a legal hurdle in this. Why was this not understood while making a promise to the public,” said Hembram.
The MLA also said, “If speaking the truth is rebellion then yes I am a rebel. If you do not keep words in your own Government, then where will you keep it?”
Hembrom said that he has agitated with Dishom Guru to save the water, forest and land of Jharkhand. He worked with Guruji to uplift primitive tribes and tribes. “But it is sad to see the condition of Jharkhand. Guruji's dream is being crushed. I am Guruji's soldier and as such can never tolerate anyone crushing Guruji's dream. Today illegal mining is happening in the State indiscriminately. The stone and sand are being looted. I repeatedly raised this matter before the Government. The matter was also raised in the House, no action taken,” said Hembram.
The MLA clearly levelled allegation on the Government and said that there is negligence at the level of the Government, so his words are not having any effect. He said that he is being accused of toppling the Government, which is baseless. “Why should we topple the government? He is the first MLA who was ready to vacate his seat for Guruji. But even at that time, to weaken Guruji, he was contested by-election from Tamar. The party should find out who were those people who wanted to weaken Guruji. He alleged that even today some people are engaged in weakening Guruji,” he added. In response to a question, Lobin said that Guruji will never believe that I am doing wrong.
