With less than a fortnight left for the ‘Vijay Sankalp Rally’ of Narendra Modi, an apprehensive Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) accused the State Government of not showing enough interest in the security of the party’s prime ministerial candidate. The party blamed the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress Government for ignoring security concerns of Modi especially after Patna serial blast.
“Modi is on the hit list of terrorist organisations such as Indian Mujahideen (IM). The IM was behind the Patna blast which was aimed to harm Modi. The entire plot was hatched in Jharkhand still the Government doesn’t seem to be concerned at all,” said BJP leader Raghuwar Das.
The BJP’s accusations came in the wake of arrests made by National Investigation Agency (NIA) during the course of investigation into Patna serial blast which allegedly was aimed to disrupt the rally besides the activities of IM operatives in the state that led to several rounds of raid by the police as well.
“Earlier only Naxalism was present in the State now it has become a terrorist safe heaven. Amid all these, only one meeting at the level of DGP has been called so far to address security concerns. It is the responsibility of state and central government to ensure that what happened in Bihar doesn’t happens in Jharkhand,” maintained Das.
Interestingly, the BJP accused the Congress of creating hurdles for the rally in cahoots with the Hemant Soren Government. The rally, likely to be organized on December 29, was earlier planned at Morhabadi ground however later it was shifted to Prabhat Tara ground at Dhurwa. “A baffled Congress is trying hard to ensure that the rally fails,” said senior BJP leader Raghuwar Das.
Nonetheless, preparations for the rally are in full swing. The party has made arrangements to bring party supporters to the venue by trains from different locations of the state. As many as three trains will originate from Sahebganj, Chakulia and Nuwamundi to carry people to Ranchi while the party is making efforts to arrange one more train to carry rally enthusiasts. Notably, as many as 104 welcome gates will be erected at several locations beginning from the Birsa Munda Airport.
“Our workers are active in all villages. We believe that the ground will be insufficient to accommodate the crowd that will turn up,” claimed Das. Meanwhile, the party has established a call centre to answer queries related to rally and providing assistance to party supporters. As many as three telephone lines have been established to felicitate communication between party and party supporter on the day of the rally. The cell will be managed by five people.
