Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday accused Raghubar Das government in State of not allowing him to meet his incarcerated father and party chief Lalu Prasad at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi.

Tejashwi was in State Capital for party’s Jan Aakrosh rally organsied by RJD youth wing at Harmu ground which was attended by senior RJD leaders from State. Addressing the gathering, Tejashwi said that on Saturday he visited RIMS for meeting his father who is undergoing treatment, but the officials did not allowed him to meet.

Tejashwi said, “I ask all of you, is it right to stop a son from meeting his father? The officials at RIMS who did not allow me to meet my father said that if I manage to get permission from Chief Minister Raghubar Das I will be allowed to meet Lalu je.”

Lalu Prasad Yadav is serving jail-term in three cases related to the multi-crore-rupee fodder scam. He is admitted at RIMS in Ranchi for medical treatment. Tejashwi Yadav said there is a ‘conspiracy going on against Lalu Prasad Yadav.’  He said the BJP and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are afraid of my father who is ‘Massiah’ for the poor people.

The Bihar leader said that despite facing difficult times, neither hid father nor RJD ever joined hands with communal forces. Attacking the Raghubar Das Government at State he said, “The BJP ruled in the State for 16 years since the creation of State, but despite BJP ruling the State for 16 years the State is still poor.” He claimed that much of Raghubar Das government development remains on paper as there is no jobs for youths. The RJD leader also attacked BJP Government for poor law and order condition in State and even cited the recent firing incident at two brothers at Lalpur chowk last week. The rally was organised by RJD Youth wing president Anil Kumar Yadav and was attended by former union minister and Jharkhand in-charge Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav, State RJD president Abhay Singh, RJD senior leader and candidate from Chatra Subhash Yadav, former MLAs Sanjay Yadav, Suresh Paswan among others.

Jai Prakash Narayan said, “The BJP Government has only looted Jharkhand and worked for capitalist forces. Jharkhand has become the colonies of Ambani and Adani due to which rich are becoming richer while the poor are becoming poorer.”The RJD show of strength was to gain its lost ground in State.

The party once had MPs and half dozen MLAs but today it has no presence in the State Assembly. However, in last few years RJD lost its ground with most of its leaders including then RJD state president Annapurna Devi and former State RJD president Girinath Singh joining BJP.
