Making an appeal to people for supporting the government in solving disputes relating to land acquisition, Jharkhand BJP unit chief laxman Gilua today said that the State Government has been facing difficulties in land acquisition for setting up industries in the State.

"Presently it is being seen that the State Government has been facing difficulties in the acquisition of land; Citizens of this state must cooperate to resolve the matter," said Gilua. While talking to the media persons at BJP headquarters in Ranchi on Thursday, he also alleged that the opposition parties are adding fuel to such movements for their personal interests.

The BJP leader alleged that former minister Yogendra Sao was responsible for recent disturbances created in Badkagaon resulting in death of four villagers, "As far as Badkagaon incident is concerned, it took place after the Sao failed to grab contract for his son from Triveni Earthmovers," Gilua added.

The BJP chief further added that whenever a plant is set up anywhere in the State, land is acquired from the rayyats before which several round of talks takes place and both the parties agrees on certain points, where they demand for proper compensation along with employment. "The government has already been working in this regard and there is no any dispute with the people in Badkagaon," he assured.

The State Government has also assured that the displaced people will be paid proper compensation and also given employment before their land is acquired.

"During a meeting held in Ranchi on July 16 where Badkagaon MlA was also present, it was decided to pay a sum of Rs 20 lakh per acre to the displaced families along with employment to one person of that family," said Gilua.

Terming Badkagaon incident as a result of provocation created by Sao, Gilua alleged that he wanted to get hold of economic sources in the area due to which he has been misguiding the locals in the name of bringing justice to them. He however said that people have now understood his ill-intentions due to which he has started losing ground in the area.

Gilua also appealed to the people of Badkagaon to keep their calm as the State Government has been keeping a close eye on the developments taking place in the area and will take proper steps very soon in this regard.
