Employees of Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) have once again reiterated their condition to recognise them as Government employees ahead of trifurcating the Board. A meeting in this regard ended with assurance from the Board and the matter would be passed by it before being getting nod of the Cabinet.
“We have said categorically that there are many issues related to facilities, service conditions, promotions but this is the first and foremost. If they would not give status to us we would go on strike,” said PK Chaturvedi of the union.
The Broad in the way of reforms have decided to go ahead with unbundle and distribute JSEB into four companies taking care of generation, transmission and distribution besides a holding company. The employees are demanding assurance for their services after the division, better service condition and guarantee of service among others before agreeing to the decision.
“We have conveyed this to Energy Secretary VK Singh who on his part instructed JSEB Chairman SN Verma to look into this. Unless this happens we are not open to any progress in this front,” added Chaturvedi. The employees would also meet Energy Minister Rajendra Singh to press for their demand.
The Broad as per its earlier plan had to unbundle its assets and liabilities and start zero-sum companies by end of August but looking into the current logjam it may be deferred by some time, said a senior official of the JSEB. However, it has agreed to most of the other demands of the employees.
