Decks have been cleared for the facelift of Shri Radha Krishan Temple area in Babhandi under Chainpur police station in Palamu. The State Government has been given an estimate of 1.82 crore worth renovation and face lifting plan.

The temple built in 1930 holds high religious tourism value and the area’s face lift was a long over due. Jharkhand Government has given 44 lakhs of rupees for the improvement of the area with which deep boring, shouchalaya and solar paneling are under way.  The department of State tourism plans to build Vivah Mandap and Yatri shed there too.

This high antique value temple has immense tourism potential and once it is developed area wise it will draw a huge flock of indigenous tourists as the site is barely seven kilometers away from Daltonganj and is well connected with a metallic road.

Giving information the spirit behind this face lifting and religious tourism Raghuvansh  Narain Singh an eminent surgeon of Palamu in Daltonganj said the state government swung into action following a question raised this Assembly Session by BJP Chhaterpur MlA Radha Krishan Kishore.

Surgeon Singh told media persons here on Sunday that BJP MlA Kishore’s question in Vidhan Sabha with regard to the development and renovation of the area where this high antique value religious institute stands the vagaries of time found Palamu administration on its toes as said Raghuvansh Narain Singh DC Palamu K Srinivasan sent in his DPO to him to get updated on this programme lying in cold storage since the year 2006 when he ( surgeon Singh) had advanced this idea of promoting this area to be a tourist hub.

The Vidhan Sabha query wanted to know from Palamu administration if the land/area is a raiyyati one, GM land or any deemed forest, what is the status of surface connectivity/ kind of approach  and how this place of religious value is to be maintained.

Surgeon Singh told media persons that he on 19.2.2016 donated 1.35 decimal of land to Governor of Jharkhand.  As regards surface connectivity the road to the place has a well built metallic road which is getting further widened.  And for the maintenance surgeon Singh said he has got a term deposit with a nationalized bank worth rupees 6 lakhs of rupees and interest earned on this TDR is spent on the area, temple and on other miscellaneous expenses.

On being asked that Chhaterpur BJP MlA Kishore took up the cudgel for this tourism promotion in Chainpur while local MlA another BJP one Aloke Chourasia kept himself aloof Singh said ‘ The local BJP MlA had recommended the matter to the state government but surely it is Radha Krishan Kishore who played a major role’.

Again asked as to what interest a surgeon of such a repute has for promotion of tourism Singh said ‘ As son of the soil I believe the residents get a chance to have tourists coming over to them which will give a new image to this area which is safe and secured and has no any law and order problem’.
