Governor Ramesh Bais on Friday appealed to the leading technical institute of the State Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra to play a leading role towards making the country self-reliant and contribute towards nation building as well as be a guide to the society.
The Governor, while addressing a gathering on the Foundation Day 2022 of the institute congratulated the students, faculty members and alumni. “It is also a day of self-observation with enthusiasm and enthusiasm that to what extent the institute has been able to achieve success in achieving the objectives of the establishment and what are the areas in which special attention is needed,” he said.
“BIT Mesra is one of the leading and oldest technical institutes of the state. This institute is known for imparting qualitative education in the field of engineering education and research. The erstwhile students of this institute have contributed well in the development of the country and society. Some students have also achieved success in their professional life by staying abroad,” said Bais.
“It has provided land and other basic facilities in setting up schools such as Kisalaya Vidya Mandir and Navodaya School, a state-run school. I congratulate the institute for this. The institute also operates a dispensary with adequate medical facilities to serve the underprivileged villagers. I would like the students here to go to the villages and make the children there aware of education and also encourage them,” he added.
“I am happy to know that BIT Mesra has also done many awareness campaigns and social work, including adoption of 10 nearby villages to work for social welfare and uplift, for which she has also received National Awards. Exams are just a part of your life, don't make it a life. Instead of worrying about failing the exam, try to learn from your mistakes and move on. Hard work is the fuel of success, so hard work is necessary. If you do not work hard, then the vehicle of success will never move beyond the platform,” he said.
The Governor said that the aim of getting a good education is to become a good citizen and then to become a successful person in personal and professional life. We are incomplete without good education. Right education makes us right thinker and right decision maker. In this competitive world, education has become the prime necessity of man after food, clothing and shelter. Education is the most important tool for providing internal and external strength to the individual.
