Stressing that the disabled persons should not be looked upon with sympathy, but one should consider them with a sense of responsibility, Chief Minister Raghubar Das announced to give Rs 2 crore to the State Disability Trust which will be formed in Jharkhand on the lines of National Disability Trust.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of World Disability Day in Ranchi, Das also said that bringing up the disabled persons with sensibility should not be the responsibility of their families; rather it should be the responsibility of the whole society.
“As the Sate Government is committed towards their development, a Disability Trust will be formed in which Rs 2 crore will be contributed by the State,” announced the CM. He also appealed to the corporate houses and the big business houses to contribute from their Corporate Social Responsibility fund for the welfare of disabled persons in the State.
“The disabled children will be able to get some vocational and professional education so that they can also get some chance to hone their skills and excel in their lives,” Das said. Corporate sector should also give priority to the disabled children in their companies in providing jobs to them, he added.
