The CM was speaking at Project Building Secretariat in a ceremony of the launch of a magazine–‘Janjatiya Niti Drishtipat’ here on Friday. He said that the book would be a milestone in the development of the State as books play crucial role in prosperity of a nation.
The CM also talked about a unique plan Attracting Rural Youth in Agriculture (ARYA) to promote Green Revolution in the State that he has conceptualised. The plan is aimed to attract rural youths towards agriculture by making them skilled in order to make the State self-dependent in agriculture.
Rural youths will be connected with Agriculture Technology Management and Training (ATMA) and trained to promote agriculture. Under the programme, two youths of every village will be selected and trained. These youths will be trained how to make proper use of barren and uncultivated land and inspired to grow pulses.
The CM has directed the departments to connect the youths with agriculture so that they need not be part of the rush to the cities and earn their livelihood in their villages. He laid stress on establishing a network of youths to process, market and add value to agriculture produce. He directed to coordinate with different stakeholders and ensure use of the available resources. He also emphasised on giving priority to the women while selecting people.
As per the blueprint of the programme, the role of trained youths includes identifying barren land in their respective villages under the guidance of Agriculture-Science Center and promoting farmers to grow pulse on them and to promote farmers to grow something else after harvesting paddy. It also includes inspiring farmers to use fertilisers as per Soil Health Card and to propagate the use of neem coated urea in their respective areas, also to inspire farmers for Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme.
The programme will also aim to promote farmers for agriculture of rabi, to appeal to farmers not to graze their cattle in open in the season of rabi, to promote seed treatment, to grow advanced seed and promote it among the farmers, to register farmers on Farmer Portal, to provide farmers new technology by calling Kissan Call Center and to constitute farmer group in their respective areas.
