For the first time in the history of Ranchi garrison six retired and serving General Officers were present in Ranchi at the same time during ‘General Officer Commanding (GOC) Conclave’ organised at Military Station Dipatoli from October 4 to 6.
The list included lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha, PVSM who commanded the division from April 1973 to November 1974 and had also been the Governor of Assam as well as Jammu and Kashmir. Other dignitaries included lt Gen (Retd) Dalip Bhardwaj, PVSM, VSM, lt Gen P R Kumar, VSM, Maj Gen R V Kanitkar, SM and Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma.
Present GOC Maj Gen Sanjiv Varma briefed the officers on the infrastructural development, upgradation in training facilities of the formation and welfare measures for the serving and retired soldiers.
