Give special attention to girls: Sinha

Published on:

The female population of this area is lagging far behind in comparison to the women of other States. It is painful that even in 21st century, the females of this area are suffering with many minor and some major health problems. “It is due to illiteracy. So it will be my humble request to you all to give special attention to the students, especially girls,” said Central Minister of State-cum-local MP Jayant Sinha in the Jan Samwad programme held on Friday in Vivekananda auditorium of Vinoba Bhave University.

The Jan Samwad programme was organised by the MP and district administration to have face-to-face interaction with the people’s representatives of both villages and towns. In this programme, village local body representatives of both Hazaribagh and Ramgarh districts participated along with the ward councillors of Hazaribagh municipal council.

MP Jayant Sinha, MlA Manish Jaiswal, MlA Nirmala Devi, DC Mukesh Kumar and others inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. The aim of organising this programme was to know about the problems and probable solutions in implementing the social welfare schemes sponsored especially by Central Government at grassroots level.

Please don’t talk about your personal problems, we are here to know about the problems you are facing at grassroots level in implementation of social welfare schemes, said Sinha, when some village local body representatives started raising personal problems and problems related with the block officials and staffs.

In this programme, more than a dozen women representatives were given time to express their feelings, problems, requirements and suggestions. Most of them talked about the problem of illiteracy among the women because there is a lack of high schools for girl students in most of the areas. The representatives of Ramgarh district and many parts of Hazaribagh district also raised the need of women’s college in their areas.

In this programme, some women representatives especially talked about the health problems of women in this region. They suggested that if in every school atleast an hour special class in a week for giving them health tips could be arranged, it will be fruitful for everyone. DC Mukesh Kumar assured that he will especially look into this matter and try to arrange such type of sessions so that the women can remain safe from diseases. MP and DC also assured them that they have noted their valuable suggestions and will try their best to make them reality as soon as possible.

In this programme, one major problem raised by the village local body representatives was related with their digital signature, which has become necessary now in e-governance. DC Mukesh Kumar assured everyone that it is not a problem really, you all need training and soon, the district administration will arrange training programme for all. He also warned them to not make their digital signature public, because it can be misused.

In this programme, Chairman Municipal Council Anjali Kumari, DDC Rajkumar Choudhary, trainee IAS Jeeshan Quamar, SDO Sandeep Kumar and all other important officials of the district were present.
