An 18-year old girl, who had just completed her intermediate, committed suicide here on Saturday evening reportedly for not scoring marks as expected. Puja Kumari, daughter of Sah Satpal Gupta, and a student of Visthapit college, Balidih had scored second division.
“She became depressed after her intermediate examinations and could not overcome the situation despite a series of counselling sessions by her parents and relatives.This led her to commit suicide on June 17,” informed officer-in charge Radha Kumari.
According to information she ended her life by hanging herself. On Saturday, her parents had gone to Bokaro for attending marriage function, while few labourers woke up and found the girl hanging from the ceiling in her room. The shocked labourer then raised an alarm.
