A young girl jumped into the Kharkai river from Aditypaur bridge on Thursday afternoon. Resident of Mango, Anjali Gupta was swept away by the free flowing currents of the river.
According to an eyewitness, girl came to the Aditypaur Bridge on her scooty while her lover followed her in a car. The girl climbed the railing of the bridge and jumped into the river. The man aged around 30 years was later identified as Ashutosh Mukherjee. He later went to a nearby police station and informed about the incident.
