Thermal tried to commit suicide by consuming poison after allegedly being physical assaulted by her school teacher Binay Kumar on Friday evening. She is recuperating and out of danger. A case of abetment to suicide has been lodged against on Saturday, police said.
In her FIR, the girl stated that she was physically assaulted by her school teacher identified Binay Kumar Singh on Friday evening at 8 pm .The accused promised her to give tuition without any fee.
The girl, whose parents had gone out on Friday evening, her aunty and grandmother were inside the house while Rekha has been cooking, when the teacher entered her house and asked her grandmother to send her in the room.
When she went to meet the teacher he allegedly held her captive and physical assaulted her, the Police Station in charge Prameshwar liyangi said.
The girl described the episode to her grandmother and aunty and later consumed some insectiside in the night. She was rushed to the nearby DVC hospital, Bokaro Thermal, where she is recovering.
According to reports, the girl had given written statement in the hospital among the police official against her school teacher Binay Kumar Singh, for stalking and sexually harassing her, she told her parents he has been doing such behaviour for past few months.
“We have registered a case against the accused and raided the teacher’s residence and school but he was found absconding. Raids were conducted at his relatives and neighbours, places as well but he was not found in the area. He will be arrested soon,” Officer-in charge P leyangi said.
