Gilua has talks with Das on new BJP team

After the dust has settled in the State BJP on the leadership issue, party workers are eagerly awaiting a new Working Committee, which is likely to be constituted by Navratra. The process for its formation has already been started by the newly-appointed president laxman Gilua. The new president has started taking views from the senior party leaders, Core Committee members as well as the other party workers in this regard.

Gilua met CM Raghubar Das today and discussed issues related to expansion of the organisation, said sources. “As per our information, the working committee will be declared soon in the first week of October during this Durga Puja and senior party leaders like Chief Minister Raghubar Das and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda are being taken into confidence before finalising the list,” said a party insider requesting anonymity. He however, said that it was in a very initial stage, and will take another 15 days to get into a shape, he added.

He further said that the BJP President did not want to leave any stone unturned to satisfy everyone before releasing the final list of BJP Working Committee in Jharkhand.

A party Vice President without being named also said that Gilua has asked the senior party leaders to give their remarks in this regard.   The state party president on Monday, asserted in Chakradharpur that the Working Committee will declared soon in Navratra, for which he was in constant touch with the senior leaders and active workers of the party.

BJP Working Committee announced by former BJP President Tala Marandi remained in controversy after he announced his team leading to resignations and protests among the rank and file of the state unit.

While the controversies so far were related to his personal life — his son being accused of sexually abusing a minor girl and later marrying another minor girl — it was the announcement of the committee through WhatsApp group that led to angry protests across the State.

Appointed on March 17, much to the surprise of the State unit, Marandi’s tenure remained embroiled in controversies.
