Giant lED screens to promote Govt schemes

Residents of the city can now look forward to receive information about important State Cabinet decisions, Government schemes and even major incidents happening anywhere in the State at the hear of the city at Sakchi and Bistupur through giant lED screens. The lED screen will come up over Sakchi Bazaar Master office near Sakchi roundabout and near Bistupur police station adjacent to Bistupur roundabout.

The State information and public relations department (IPRD) has taken a decision in this regard. Following the directives East Singhbhum district administration has zeroed two sites for putting up lED screens in the commercial hubs of Sakchi and Bistupur. The screen would function through the day except between 11 pm – 6 am when there is not much rush at the market.

To start with, the department will install some information display screens in the city. later, the campaign will be taken to the districts too. The information display boards that will be installed in the city will make people aware of government policies.  “Yes we are working over the project and have received the sites location from the East Singhbhum district administration and the concerned agency will begin installation of the lED screens soon,” said an official of IPRD.

The lED screens will have dimensions of 10X9 feet and would be put by an advertising agency, Mark Ad, which has bagged the tender for installing similar lED screens across state. The advertising agency would operate and maintain the lED screens for three years from its installation.

Dhalbhum SDO Alok Kumar said that they have finalized Bistupur and Sakchi for the screens  because these are the two busiest commercial hub of the city. A large number of people travel through these areas and it will help people to understand Govt initiatives better.

Sources informed that the idea is to spread greater awareness.  Apart from important events, development schemes running on the screens, important news like information on accidents and other agitation like road block for public interests will continue to scroll at the bottom of the screen in an easily readable font size in both Hindi and English.

“We have already started two such screens in Ranchi and we have received overwhelming response. We are also planning to screen CM interaction with people ‘Seedhi Baat programme’ usually held on the last Tuesday of every month. The information will not only inform people about Govt schemes and make them aware about their rights but also act as an encouragement for people to be a part of the mainstream,” said another official.
