Chief Minister Hemant Soren reiterated his commitment to transparency in public life by gifting the State another electronic platform on Independence Day.

After aapkacm-turned-aapkisarkar and the State police website for online grievance redressal, Soren unveiled the e-samwad service. “Providing transparent and accountable administration is our priority. For this, the e-samwad and redressal service has been started, through which people can register problems and complaints online,” said Soren during his speech at Morhabadi on Thursday. Remembering the freedom fighters of the country and the State on August 15, the CM mentioned the sacrifice made by policemen while fighting Naxals.

He also admitted the Government has to work hard for development to reach all the people. “Jharkhand is making significant contribution in all-round development of the country and has also taken strides on the path of its own progress. About 78 per cent of the State’s population is dependent on agriculture, but only 7 lakh hectares, of 30 lakh, have irrigation facility. Without proper management of water, we cannot be self-dependent in terms of foodgrain and so all kinds of irrigation projects will get a fillip,” said the CM.

Speaking about health, he said the 100-bed Sadar Hospital of Dumka has been upgraded to 300-bed and permission for building a 500-bed hospital there has also been granted. In future, it would run as a medical college.Soren stressed on alternative power sources and mentioned various solar power projects running in Jharkhand, besides the 1,320-MW proposed thermal power plant at Godda’s Baristand.

“With 2013 being Youth & Skill Development Year, the Government will provide education and employment to youth, along with promoting sports. Technical training is being given by ensuring ITIs at sub-division level and for women at district level,” said the CM. He added that virtual classes for polytechnic students would become a reality soon.Soren was enthusiastic about promotion of livelihood at the local level. He mentioned ‘cage culture’ and other modern techniques for fish producers and housing provisions for them. He also stressed on animal husbandry for farmers to enhance income.

“Construction of a dairy science college at Hansdiha of Dumka will be completed by October and the session will start from 2014-15,” said the Chief Minister.  He ordered all Deputy Commissioners to honour freedom fighters at their residences and present them with a shawl as a memento, which Soren himself did. He also talked about ongoing road construction projects.
