Clearing doubt whether the initiative of the Government to come up with separate Budgets on gender and agriculture would see three separate papers being laid down in the Assembly, Minister Saryu Roy said that the estimate would be annexed into the Demands for Grants-2016-17 itself.
"As I understand, the announced gender and agriculture Budgets would not be tabled separately but would be a part of the General Budget for the State. In fact, specialised provisions for women and farmers would be made that would present some dedicated allotments for the targeted groups," Roy said. The Government is slated to present Budget for the next fiscal on February 19.
The Minister added that the exercise would define priorities for the section in the form of specific facts, plans, focus areas, incentives and allotments for say, animal husbandry, irrigation, crop insurance or girl education and women employment etc.
