The first General Body Meet of Doctors' Wives Association along with Lohri Celebration was held on Saturday.The new committee comprising Shreela Choudhary, President; Vice Presidents, Deepa Chouhan, Arti Singh, DrSoni Sinha, Madhu Gupta; Secretary, Amrita Baidya; Jt Secretaries-Rinku Choudhary, Anju Kumari Singh, Pallavi Sharan; Treasurer, Monideepa Dasgupta; Jt.Treasurer, Neelam Shekhar were formally introduced by the Chairperson Vinita Sharan and Founder cum Co-Chairperson Jhooma Sarkar.
The programme began with the welcome address by Shreela Choudhary, the new President. Then followed a cultural programme of Lohri showcasing our rich cultural heritage. Bhangra and Gidda presented by small children enthralled everyone. The decor on the theme set the perfect atmosphere for Lohri. Everyone enjoyed gathering around a bonefire the traditional ritual of the festival. Secretary Amrita Baidya highlighted the agendas for the present year emphasising the charity work, the main motto of DWA.
She also proposed the vote of thanks making special mention of the organising team-Shila Raj, Rita Gupta, Arti Sinha, Sufia Ali, Bindu Prasad, Kamlesh Middha, Taruna Chhabra, Archana Jagnani, Aradhna Senapati, Minali Middha, Dr Priyanka Lamba, Dr Ruhi Shrivastav, Dr Siksha Lal, Riddhima Mittal and Shalini Gupta.
