Shanti Devi elected as Chairman and Satyanarayan Yadav elected as vice Chairman of Garhwa District Board election on Tuesday. Shanti Devi who was elected as a district board member from Ramana recently filed her nomination for the post of District Board chairman while Suman Devi who won the district board member seat from Garhwa also filed the nomination for the election of chairman.
Of the total 25 votes, Shanti secured 21, while her rival Suman Devi got only four votes. The post of vice-chairman was won by Satyanarayan Yadav. Yadav defeated his nearest rival Jaidullah Ansari with a margin of 7 votes. Yadav gained 15 votes while Ansari got 8 votes. Third candidate Ajay Chaudhry bagged only two votes.
Before this newly-elected District Board members took oath in the Conference hall located at Collectorate, today. The Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Gholap administered Oath to the newly-elected members.
The DC gave the certificate to both the chairman and vice-chairman and also administered Oath to them.
