Member of Assembly's Public Accounts Committee arrived post mid-night at Daltonganj circuit house from Garhwa circuit house has taken every one in Daltonganj by surprise on Saturday.
A member of this Public Accounts Committee and Jamtara Congress MlA Irfan Ansari, who was one among the others to arrive there, said, “We left Garhwa circuit house around midnight to reach Daltonganj circuit house as there was no arrangement for our stay in there. There was no blanket for us in the room. I was asked to cover myself with a shawl in this winter.”
Ansari added further that the cook there learnt to be preparing food for the visiting team with water from the toilet. “Public Accounts Committee would take up this issue with the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha. We may go initiating privilege motion against the erring officials at Garhwa,” added the MlA.
Garhwa Deputy Commissioner Neha Arora said, “I have ordered a probe into this episode. let the probe be complete first and its report reach me then I will be able to make any statement. The alleged deficiency in services to the Committee was not a new thing as the circuit house has never lived up to the expectation in the past too. Majority of officials and leaders skip staying there.
On Saturday, the Public Accounts Committee was to hold a meeting with the DC and other officials. Irfan Ansari said that the DC was busy on that day in a Janta Durbar and requested for meeting only at 4 in the evening while the members wanted it to be held at 2 pm.
