Deputy Superintendent of Police (crime control room) Subodh Kumar said while producing before the court, they have prayed for seven day police remand for Sharma.

"We want to gather all information from him. We have prayed for seven day police remand for Sharma who is to be grilled in connection with his link with gangster Akhilesh Singh and the latter's criminal activities in the steel city and else where in the country," said Kumar.

Sources said the police will also soon initiate legal procedure to get landed properties of the gangster spread across various cities with the help of Sharma.

Police gathered from document procured from Akhilesh's  Shristy Garden residential flat in Baridih on March 29 had made the Prashant Anand SP (City) to focus on Dehradun where the gangster's mentor was supposed to have been staying.  As Akhilesh was in touch with Sharma constantly, the police suspect he (Sharma) might have been known much about the gangster's whereabouts.
