Palamu police would have won more appreciation, had it saved a minor dalit girl from being kidnapped, gang raped, killed, buried in sand, her clothes burnt all to eliminate any chance of recovery or cracking of this brutal crime.
However Palamu police made a comeback with nabbing all the 8 gang rapists of this dalit girl, recovered her buried and nude body, recovered her half burnt clothes and one inner wear intact. Two bikes used in this crime were also recovered.
Kidnapping cum gang raping cum murder took place on the night of March 24. The eight gang rapists were arrested on April 2. All the eight were remanded in judicial custody on Sunday April 5.
Confirming this DSP Hiralal Ravi said SP Palamu Patel Mayur K lal monitored this case which was shocking for everyone and now police would ensure these 8 gang rapists are convicted and punished most severely.
DSP Ravi said among the eight gang rapists two first stormed into her house at Banjaree village under Paton police station by removing the brick of the wall and then scaled it. The hapless girl was with her aged maternal grandmother. Her parents were away in Punjab to bring back their sick son.
Ravi said the dalit girl was kidnapped at desi katta point and taken down to a place near a rivulet. There she was stripped of. All the 8 gang raped her and then killed her and buried her in sand with her clothes burnt also.
The 8 are Eqbal Jafaer, Bijay Yadav Paras Yadav Surender Yadav Sonu Mehta Om prakash Singh, Ranjit and rakesh Kumar. All were drunk when they committed this heinous crime.
Ravi said the eight knew the dalit girl was with her aged maternal grandmother and there would be no resistance.
Paton police did try to locate and trace her but the girl was killed at same night of her kidnapping on March 24. Police recovered the damaged cell phone and sim of this dalit girl.
The victim girl had phoned her aunt too when attempts were being made by these 8 to first remove the brick and then to storm in the house but her aunt could not make much of this call of the girl in extreme distress.
