Four sent to jail for vandalising train

Railway Protection Force has cracked the whip and sent four examinees of police recruitment on Sunday in the case of stoning, damaging and looting booked parcel of Shaktipunj express train on Saturday.

RPF inspector Pankaj Prakash has confirmed the remand of four in judicial custody. He identified the four sent to central jail as Jitender Sharma, Raju Chowdhury, Anup Kumar Rajak and Mukesh Kumar Mishra.

The miscreants have been booked under Sections 141, 145, 146, 147, 153, 154, 155 156 of the IPC and two sections of Indian Railways Act dealing with destruction and loot of its property have also been slapped against them and several others unidentified as mentioned in the FIR.

Pankaj said few people had looted fish booked in parcel van of this Shaktipunj express train.

The situation turned so bad on Saturday that several passengers had to live with the ire, misbehavior and molestation of the candidates who turned up in large number across the State to appear in the police constable exam.

The RPF puts the number of candidates between 8,000 and 10,000 present on the Daltonganj railway station on Saturday.

However railway people here doubted this figure saying the RPF is making out a case to save its own skin as the RPF was most un prepared to handle this situation as it had neither worked out on this nor had any anticipation of this problem to arise when it was a general talk of rush on Saturday to swell here with this turn out of candidates for the police recruitment.

RPF inspector drew the FIR by his name and post with the Garhwa road GRP police station.

On Saturday Shaktipunj express train was damaged in Daltonganj railway station. Its engine was damaged. Glass panes were shattered.

Parcel van was broke open. Fish booked in it were looted. And the police recruitment probables did it in full light of the camera of the news men.

Sources said RPF has used the same photograph to buttress his case against four now jailed and thousands roaming free un identified. On being asked that majority of sections of IPC and Railway Act invoked in this case are bailable RPF inspector Pankaj was most evasive saying ' let me check this'.
